In the sub-menus below, we list items that we use for our outdoor adventures. I only list things we actually use and, as such, recommend for the applications they are intended. Having the proper clothing and equipment not only makes being in the outdoors more enjoyable, it can save lives.
I never travel into the backcountry without some type of satellite communicator – a beacon, satellite phone or texting device, such as an InReach. I understand it creates extra weight, but we have all read too many stories where someone is stranded, injured or lost, with no means to reach the outside world.
